Today I got up at 5:30am and did a few computer tasks, called the USDA about a question I had on an Agricultural Survey I was sent and went back to bed till 8:30. At that point the dogs decided it was time to go out.
While the washing machine worked on my clothes, I did some preparations for the hurricane due to begin effecting us tomorrow.
I headed into town to work on a fax machine that was not working. I believe it is a noisy phone line and will have to go back with an actual telephone to listen to the line.
I stopped by a farm to take a video of the property for a friend who is buying it.
The next stop was Denny’s because they have a great complimentary birthday meal. I had scrambled eggs, pancakes, hash browns and a couple strips of bacon. I added coffee and a water so my total bill was in the range of $2.19. I left a $4 tip.
Then it was off to the limo company who had what they thought was a hard drive problem. After taking the drive out and putting it in another system, turns out they were bitten by a bad Microsoft patch! I suspected as much and you should too if your PC craps out on a Tuesday or Wednesday. In this case, this was their first reboot after the patches automatically downloaded.
Then it was up to Costco for a couple items and a slice of pizza and a soda. Many people were buying supplies for the possibility of the hurricane this weekend. After Costco it was a quick stop at Safeway for milk and bread and back to the house.
Although I did not do it today, in the past I have driven down the driveway while watching the video feed of the lanai on my cellphone. This allowed me to see at what point the dogs wake up hearing my truck and start running down the steps to greet me. I may not know what is on a dogs mind, but I know how good their hearing i!
So, all in all, today was much like any other. I still like sleeping in when ever I want. I am in good health (especially after two major operations this year) and the dogs have not turned on me. Yet. Life is sweet:-)
