Some of the Smartphone apps I like:
Colorlight: flashlight
Dropbox: I added a spreadsheet for shopping items on my home PC and open the same file from dropbox when shopping
Camtimer: Can shoot multiple photos in a row
Gasbuddy: Although I no longer drive far from home, it shows cheapest gasoline in your present location – great when driving the Interstate and wanting to know if driving an extra mile down a lonely road will be cheaper gas
Google Sky Map: Shows planets and stars as you hold phone up to the night sky
Life360: If allowed by others, shows their current location on a map – track friends or family
LowestMed: Shows lowest price in your location for prescriptions (Is Costco cheaper than Walmart for Diovan?)
Metal Detector: because sometimes you drop a small screw in shag carpeting
Office Suite: Generic office apps
PasswordCard: In case you want cryptic passwords and want to have them hidden in plain sight
Pizza Area: Calculates per sq inch of pizza to tell you if a med at one price is a better deal than a large at a different price
Roku: Allows control of various Rokus in your house
Satellite AR: Shows satellites overhead and expected viewing times. You CAN see some satellites and the Space Station as it comes overhead!
Speedtest: tests connection speed. Compare your WiFi speed with Cell data speed, 3g, 4g, etc. (my wifi was 16mbs/1.5mb and the 4g was 12.42mb/5.19mb so downloading fast I might want to use wifi but upload lots of photos use my cellphone data plan if time is important)
VIP Access: Allows 2 part authentication for places like PayPal. Must enter regular PayPal login, then look at phone for a 6 digit number that I must enter. The cellphone creates the number internally, ie no data used on plan.
So there you have it, some of the applications I like and use. There are others of a more limited appeal to the public that I didn’t mention.
