Road Block

As I mentioned here a while back, this island has one main road around it and one road across the middle. The middel road is called Saddle Road and has no gas, no services, nothing but a campground (with bathroom and no water), a road up to Mauna Kea Summit, a hunters station and a military camp. The road used to be quite bad but now nicely paved.
That is a good thing because an accident has colsed part of the road around the east side of the island at Kaawalii Gulch. Residents have been asked to use Saddle Road while clean up happens. It was to be a brief closure but now it appears the accident was an overturned fuel tanker and the road was to be closed “indefinately”.
Then minutes ago, the road was opened again t othe public. Prerhaps not much fuel spilled. However, as you can see, something like this could happen at any time and you tend to take things as they come.
When I was in Atlanta they closed the interstate fro an hour or so, for a Presidential motorcade. There was much hollering and problems. In Washington they closed parts of the “Beltway” for a few hours and people screamed.
Her I think we use it as an excuse to not hurry
