We order meat from the beef producer Wednesday morning, then they cut and package the meat for us. Then Thursday afternoon the driver comes by and delivers our orders in bulk. We have volunteers come in and we cut and repackage co-op members orders.

This truck also delivers meat to the local supermarket and again this month, we received more meat than the supermarket did. I think we handled 500 pounds of meat today and had it cut and packaged in just an hour and a half or so.

I am amazed that someone (and I’m not saying it’s me) who has had such a disgust of blood and such, is able to cut skirt meat, kidney and tripe. I have to tell you that is is quite odd to cut into a beef tongue, yet cut them we do.

When the puppies here are ready to be weaned from Mom, they are first fed a mixtur eof ground beef, ground beef heart, yogurt and raw egg. They eat it all up and soon are eating chicken, beef and pork. As I say, they are very healthy!
