I’m legal; well my TRUCK is legal! I was able to finally get my insurance card, my registration and inspection sticker all in one place and finally have a legal truck to drive. The DMV also encouraged me to register it this time as a commercial vehicle. I had at least hoped for “Commercial” on the tags, but here they do it differently. Passenger car tags are 3 letters followed by 3 numbers, commercial vehicles are 3 numbers followed by 3 letters.
I was in the store today and saw a sign next to some locally grown mangos. It said they were locally produced, hand picked, washed and inspected. Gotta love the local products, although I didn’t buy any. I have 100 mangos dropping to the ground and going to waste. Mine are not the best style but certainly good enough. I just don’t have time for mangos and avocados.
Yesterday I vought a bag of Li Hing Nui Drops (a plumb and licorice candy) but after tasting the first one, have crossed this one off my list. There is a real piece of plum inside and enough salt to salt a side of beef. I like Mochi Maru (a flavored candy made from rice with the consistancy of a marshmallow). I also like the Fancy Japan Mix candy, which is pretty much sugar and fruit flavors. See? I DO try some of the favorite local items, I just don’t have to like them all
We are close to Memorial Day, but here in the islands it is not that big vacation deal, since many of us will still stay here and continue with our constant vacation! We will march and pray and honor our fallen soldiers and departed friends and family. We will shop and drive and fly and visit.
For those following along at home, you know that I am trying to recover a disk drive with lots of my personal data on it. Now is the time to remind all of you to make a backup of your data. The name backup also can remind you what the data repesents, a way to get back up and running after a problem.
Until next time, aloha!
P.S. Start that backup now! Don’t say you have not been warned
