I Think Were Alone Now
There is an old song titles “I Think Were Alone Now” by Tommy James and the Shondells.
I think we’re alone now
There doesn’t seem to be anyone around
I think we’re alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
Oftentimes my blog entries are song titles because music is our way of expressing who we are, what we are doing and so on.
Lately we have been told to self-distance ourselves to reduce the spread of a contagious virus. I live on a farm of over 8 acres and with the exception of a couple workers this week pruning some trees and an invasion of feral pigs, it is empty and quiet. I take the dogs on a daily walk up the farm but it is not enough exercise for any of us. They are old and I am old and lazy.
At night I DO hear my heart beating and sometimes it is quite disconcerting. Oh yeah, having a beating heart is a good thing in and of itself, but mine beats too much at times. After my heart surgery it seems they moved my heart a bit closer to the front of my chest and with the blood flow increased, my heart beating is more pronounced. Lying in bed I feel it beating and can even see a small blurring of my eyes as my head seems to move ever so slightly with each beat. If there was more neighborhood noise, I might not hear the actual beat and be distracted.
We gotta hide what we’re doin’
‘Cause what would they say
There doesn’t seem to be anyone around
I think we’re alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
