I thought that now would be a great time to replace the two windows with a sliding window. Then I realized the folly of that idea. A casement window woudl slide back and forth, but only half of the window allows air in because the glass that you just slid, covers the other half of the window.

Another product would be a single glass jalousie that would be cranked open, however, it would not open fully horizontal where the multiple jalousie do.

I don’t have any issues with having full airflow, if I can get it.

In the meantime, I have permanently mounted the bottom piece of glass and disconnected it from the mechanism to allow me to open that side and just leave the one piece of glass alone. This was certainly the cheap way to go until I decide what I want to do. I have found the mechanism difficult to find in the size I need.

Based upon my history, this temporary fix may be in place for quite a while :-)
