Getting The Axe

Because I was traveling often to Oahu this year, I grabbed a small spray deodorant at Walmart without much thought. Turns out it was Axe “Peace”. If you don’t know (and I didn’t) Axe is targeted to nerdy adolescents who are just entering puberty and think that by smelling great, they will attract the opposite sex. The odor of the spray is similar to standing on a country road, turning to look and being hit expectantly by a Mack truck! The odor of the spray has to be worse than the odor it is meant to cover.

This particular scent smells like violets or something and that one spray I used will be the last.

Some schools have banned the brand and encouraged boys to avoid the use of the product because they seem to overuse the product and people are getting headaches from the smell. What appears to be a major problem is boys using the product in heavy amounts after gym and the aroma wafting throughout the school.

As I watched TV this morning, Kally and Michael showed an item the manufacturer of Axe sent them showing how to properly spray the stuff. This is the opposite of toothpaste or shaving cream companies that seem to advertise that if you don’t use half the product at one time, you are a loser.

In summary, be careful what you buy.
