My great-uncle, me and a number of my friends have been Ham Radio Operators. We use radio waves to communicate. In fact, my great uncle used to bounc radio signals off of the moon, just because it was there.

Lately, we have been using technology to communicate. We send messages from cell phones, sometimes at ten cents a message. We chat by voice or by typing instant messages computer to computer.

Although Western Union has sent their last telegram, that type of almost-instant message will forever be remembered due to old movies. A fear of dread often came to recipients if they had a son or daughter in the service.

We write blogs like this one, and we send postcards. Some of us write messages in internet forums, in newsgroups and chat rooms.

We talk to ourselves, we talk to our spouse or to friends or we might talk to the world. Sometimes we make sense; sometimes we don’t.

We write letters and stories. Sometimes our stories are published; sometimes they are long forgotten.

We talk in our sleep and we write histories to be buried; only to be dug up in the future.

I’m about done talking, but I have one last item to communicate to you. I have two Ebay auctions going if you want to have a bit of freshly roasted Kona Coffee. It offers free shipping.

Look for item numbers 4442223002 for one pound bags or 4442220529 for a big 2 pound bag! Now THAT is something to write home about! :-)
