Batteries
I bought a ‘shelf’ of sorts to house the batteries a couple of feet above the ground and had the first one on it. Last night I decided to place the second battery on top of the first and then decided that it was not going to work well and started looking at metal shelving. The type I want is not available at the moment and may be too tall. Another type which is perfect, cannot be delivered to Hawaii. I thought that the only reason the top battery would have issues is if we had an earthquake and we have not felt one here in a while, so I should be fine for now.
I will be giving tours at the Painted Church today so I double-checked the two batteries and felt confident they would be alright until I go to town and find shelving that will work. Perhaps I could go after I get off from the church today.
So I go to bed early last night, so early that I woke up around 11pm to midnight. I decide to watch some TV and at 1:42 I decide to move the top battery off. Why? I guess that the 4.75 quake that shook the house kinda nudged me to take action. So I went down and with lots of effort lifted the 100 pound battery and slid it down onto the hand truck.
That quake was 35 air miles away, by the way.
So much for temporary mounting batteries.
