A Very Busy Week
The past week has been a busy one for me.
A co-worker and his wife just moved here from the mainland and I have been helping them get settled. They came with carry-on luggage and will be going back to the mainland in a few months to close up the house and place it up for sale. That is as long as the vog and differences between Hawaii and the mainland are not too much for them to bear.
They bought a farm that their agent and I picked out and I think it is a good compromise. They wanted near town and the hospital, high speed internet, electricity and would not mind living near where I do. They have a multi-acre farm with coffee already on it. An added bonus is some well-established fruit trees. We enjoyed some oranges and tangerines recently. They have picked some papaya too.
They tested the water with a pen-like tester and gave our local water a big thumbs-up.
We have also made *numerous* trips to town, but I expected that and some trips were encouraged by me. They are stocking up on items, learning what stores are good values for specific products and so so on.
Then I was working on this blog and fixed a computer (a story I’ll document in a different entry).
So there you have it, about 6 trips to town in a week and lots of walking.
