A Week Of Decisions

The guy came down and saw the farm and said he could do the work but with his background (an arborist), he was hoping for more money. He was also trying to get work at Costco in the Meat Department.

So then I don’t hear from him for two days and my friend tells me he got the job at Costco and was trying to juggle hours there, the limo driving place and here.

I also get a call from another guy from the limo companyu who has picked coffee and done farm work and also wants to make some extra money.

The first guy calls and I say “congratulatuions on Costco” to which he replies, yeah, I quit after 2 days. It wasn’t what I thought it would be. From what I understand, he has no training in butchery and they may have had him cleaning up. That is the job I would expect anyone to give me the first few days anyway.

So then the second guy calls and says he will be down the next day to work and then the first guy calls back and says, you know, I think I don’t think I would be happy doing farm work right now either.

So the second guy and I picked some coffee and I pulped it and have set it out t odry. I have an order for some and he says he can wait, but that he is attending a meet and would love to take some of my coffee and encourage his friends to buy some. I just don’t think I can get any dry and processed quickly enough for that, and want their experience to be great, and freshly processed coffee seems to be a bit better after it ages a bit. Otherwise, it can taste a bit grassy.

So then I have been in email communications with a family who was interested in the remaining black female Labrador puppy I have. The husband flew to the island and I met with him this morning, along with the mom and dad and puppy. Afterwards he said he was stopping by another breeder in town and may make his decision today. I got a text message a while ago that he went with a yellow Lab from the other breeder. I know that he was trying to find a good fit for his family and his young child he has at home. I hope it works out fro him.

So now I have lots of coffee and hardly anywhere to dry it (and much more to pick yet). I also seem to have 1 puppy too many. Even though she is a sweetie, I have to send her to a new family soon. I’ll post another ad and cross my fingers.
