I had a long day and went to bed early. As usual, the dogs got me up in the middle of the night. I knew that we were having a total lunar eclipse either tonight or tomorrow but have seen my share.

In any event, as I let the dogs out I noticed hat we were at abiout 98% total eclipse. I decided to wait a while and give the dogs extra time outside.

Because we are rural and have observatories on the island at high altitude, we don’t have lots of lights and which ones we do, don’t point up. Thus we have dark sky. We also happened t ohave a perfectly clear crisp night with no vog. Thus, a dramatic viewing of the eclipse.

I tried to take a photo but can’t find my rarely used tripod. You will just have to take my word for the beauty.
